It looks like Mom and Dad were right (again): Skipping breakfast may really be a bad idea. In a study published in 2017 in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, people who ate small breakfasts or skipped them entirely appeared to be at higher risk for artery-clogging blood vessel plaque than those who had substantial morning meals. Plaque risk was 40 to 50 percent higher for those who ate lightly (mostly coffee and toast or pastries) and even higher in those who ate nothing. Breakfasts considered "substantial" in this research included produce, healthy fats, cereal, and protein. This study can't prove cause and effect, but it mirrors earlier research that found skipping or skimping on breakfast could lead to making unhealthy food choices and consuming more calories later in the day, extra abdominal fat, and higher levels of inflammation and blood sugar, researchers say.

To develop great compassion, meditate on someone you love and focus and meditate on their positive body, speech, and mind. Then gradually expand this to other people.

Think about the mistakes you have made.
When you feel anger, immediately think about that you are not angry with that person.
Meditate: today I will be tolerant, and I will love them as much as I can.
If I can’t love them I will not harm them.
Then think about the suffering in the world
Think about where most of the suffering comes from – the main cause is anger.
Then check your mind
There are three types of mind:
If someone makes you angry, think that you have a great opportunity to practice tolerance with them.
Have confidence in your practice of meditation which reduces distraction and deepens it.
Chant: “benefit from tolerance, harm from anger”.
Do this three times per day.
Direct the focus on the mind instead of the body.
Use mantras to calm the mind.
When you meditate, think of someone you like and be at peace.
If you make someone you care about unhappy, then you will make yourself unhappy.
The goal of meditation is to help others and this helps you. Begin with someone you like and think that you are meditating for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Small actions are fine. Meditate on the environment then pick something up, for example pick some trash up.
Devotion is the head of the motivation. You need to have devotion to yourself.
You are wonderful you have more capacity and strengths than you think and you have innate goodness. We all are amazing, unique and wonderful.
You all have wisdom within yourself. As you meditate you will go on a path of discovery. There is unlimited discovery within oneself and you should have faith in yourself.
The essence of meditation is awareness which equals non-distraction. The king of meditation is nothing, not concentration, not breathing.
Do not meditate on anything; you cannot block or burn emotions, therefore do not try to block them, but do not follow them either.
If you forget awareness, then you are lost; You forget what you are doing and where you are. Do not get lost because when you get lost you become dull minded.
So do not meditate and do not get lost.
The key point is that you have awareness. if you do not, you are not meditating.
Do you want me to teach you about awareness? If you do, raise your hand. By just raising your hand you are demonstrating awareness. Awareness is part of your basic goodness. We have to recognize our awareness and then awareness becomes an integral part our life. We should have continuous awareness, 24 hours per day.
It is not easy to consciously recognize and maintain your awareness. You are however born with awareness. If you recognize your own awareness then it becomes available to you. It is like recognizing that you have a 5 kg diamond in your possession. We all have this 5 kg diamond but we tend to beg for food; this is because we do not recognize that we have this diamond and that we are actually rich.
Recognize who you are and you will become someone different. By recognizing your diamond, your life will be wonderful, you will be as rich as never before. You cannot escape from awareness it is always there. awareness is pristine, like crystal-clear water or light and space. Pristine water can change through reflections and space can change by clouds. Reflections make it look as if the water changes. Just like our concepts and intellectualizations change our awareness. There are different ways of recognizing and becoming aware of our awareness. One can meditate with or without an object.
If you crave the flavor of hot peppers and the like, there might be good news for your blood pressure. People who love very spicy food consumed less salt and had blood pressure readings lower than those who avoided tongue-sizzling tastes. That's according to a recent study in the Journal Hypertension from China's Third Military Medical University. Brain scans of the subjects found something surprising (and useful if you're trying to reduce added salt): Capsaicin, the spicy component of chili peppers, increased activity in brain regions that were also stimulated when salt was consumed. Spicy flavors seem to make the brain more sensitive to salty tastes, potentially taking less salt to satisfy.
